The Five Benefits to Hiring a Dancer

Children who grew up with dance training make for great employees when they’re older.

As a dance instructor over the past 10 years, I’ve witnessed my students grow and mature into young adults. Some have gone on to become professional dancers and others have entered the workforce in other capacities. And, I have to say, dancers make great employees! Here are five benefits to hiring an employee who trained in dance growing up:

1. Determination

Dancers learn early on that the only way to achieve a goal is to push yourself. Teachers can convey a proper education, but the results truly come from a student’s personal determination. As an employee, a dancer is not going to expect that pile of work to do itself. They’re experts at buckling down and putting the time in.

2. Time Management

Dance students balance schoolwork, a social life, family-time and still make it to the studio, often four to five hours an evening five days a week. That takes some serious time management. Dancers make great professionals that won’t crack under pressure. Balancing multiple tasks and being able to switch gears is not unfamiliar to a dance student.
